For those not in the know, Belle and I are moving to a new place on the 20th and we have to buy an apartment's worth of furniture. Well, I took the plunge and got a few items out of the way.

So, I got my first grad paper back. A 15-page solution to the Iraq thing. I thought it was the worst paper of my academic career, and was anticipating the grade to drive me from graduate school permanently. Instead I somehow got the highest grade in the class, and the highest grade the professor will give -- 97. He told me he believed it worthy of widespread publication.

I am completely confused.

But I'll definitely take it.

I know what I'm buying myself for my birthday.
